BOMBAYS MILLIONAIRES TIME COLLECTORS

India Watch Weekend was more than an event — it was a movement. 2025 November 28–30 at Jio World Plaza, Mumbai’s luxury epicenter became the stage for *The Collector’s Edit*, a celebration where horology met heritage and the future of watch collecting in India took center stage.

The inaugural India Watch Weekend (IWW) 2025 took place in Mumbai, marking a massive milestone for India’s rapidly growing luxury horology community. Co-founded by Punit Mehta (who is also the Chapter Lead of RedBar India) and Karishma Karer (Founder of The Hour Markers), the event brought together over 450 collectors and notable industry experts.

With a global lens and an Indian heartbeat, it’s designed for the new generation of enthusiasts and seasoned connoisseurs alike. From immersive brand experiences to storytelling that builds community, this is where craftsmanship, culture, and curiosity converge. A prelude to 2027, yes — but already a must-attend moment for anyone who believes time is meant to be lived beautifully.

Punit Mehta, Chapter Lead, RedBar India, and Co-founder, India Watch Weekend: Absolutely. For many collectors and enthusiasts in India, this was their first real watch show. Suddenly, there were exhibitions, curated food and drinks, parties, and everything happening over one weekend. Watching people move between a panel, a brand space, a sake tasting, and then straight into a conversation about watches was a great reminder of why we wanted to do this in the first place.
Karishma Karer, Founder, The Hour Markers, and Co-founder, India Watch Weekend: Honestly, it went beyond our expectations. This was only the second India Watch Weekend, but it was the first time we had so many brands and experiences together. The responses from people were incredibly heartwarming. Many didn’t quite know what to expect, and that sense of discovery was exciting to see.

Panerai’s watchmaking session was a standout — a rare chance to dive into the mechanics behind their iconic timepieces, and this year, it drew none other than Jim Sarbh. The Bollywood actor rolled up his sleeves, fully immersed in the craft, as guests across the event got hands-on with movements, balance wheels, and precision tools.

With certificates awarded, cameras flashing, and conversations sparking, the experience did more than showcase horology — it brought it to life. A perfect blend of art, engineering, and star power, all ticking in sync.

The fusion of fashion and fine watchmaking came alive as JJ Valaya and Jaeger-LeCoultre unveiled a styling session steeped in festive glamour. From velvet sherwanis to corset sarees and bold contemporary wedding ensembles, each look was paired with the timeless elegance of the Reverso — a watch that, like the attire, thrives at the intersection of tradition and innovation.
Stylist Priyanka Castelino highlighted “For a man, a watch is one of the most eye-catching accessories he can wear. For women, if you’re wearing a heavily embellished lehenga, you can do a lovely ring stack with a watch on one hand and a finely detailed hathphool on the other. I like to call it minimalistically maximal.”

With stylist Priyanka Castelino at the helm, guiding guests through color stories and accessory pairings, the room buzzed with creative energy. It wasn’t just a showcase — it was a conversation between couture and craftsmanship, where every glance at the wrist felt like part of the ensemble.

The panel with RedBar members Mohit Chuganee and Ashin Kothari was such a grounding moment — a reminder that behind every collection is a story, a spark, a deliberate choice. It’s not just about rarity or value; it’s about meaning. Each watch, each piece, chosen with purpose. In a world of noise, that intention is what turns timepieces into heirlooms.

A central highlight of the weekend was a series of highly anticipated collector-led panel discussions and roundtables featuring active RedBar members and global market specialists. The session titled “Your Future Grail” featured FutureGrail experts Ali Nael, Arnaud Tellier, and Mohsin Rizvi discussing high-value timepiece acquisitions and asset management, explored the nuances of high-value timepiece acquisitions, asset management, and the shifting philosophies of modern horological collecting.

Golden Hour by AiSPi made its debut at India Watch Weekend as a beautifully curated luxury pop-up, bringing together niche global designers, exquisite accessories, and fine horology in one elegant space.

Founded by Aisha Sarafuchari, AiSPi shone a spotlight on craftsmanship with intention — where every piece tells a story, and every moment feels elevated. It wasn’t just shopping; it was discovery, curated with soul.

Cartier wrapped the day in pure elegance with a cocktail evening that felt like old friends reuniting under golden light. Laughter flowed as freely as the champagne, macarons added a sweet indulgence, and horology stories wove through the room — the kind only watch lovers share.

It was more than an event; it was a moment of connection, warmth, and shared passion, perfectly setting the tone for what’s to come for the next edition.
